Communication Base Station Backup Power Microgrid Energy Storage System

Release time: 2026-05-09

1)     Customer Pain Points: Remote communication base stations conventionally rely on diesel generators as backup power sources. This approach entails high fuel transportation costs, frequent maintenance requirements, considerable noise pollution, and unreliable generator startups during low temperatures or severe weather conditions. Especially during critical periods such as forest fire prevention, ensuring continuous power supply to base stations and preventing communication interruptions is of paramount urgency.

2)     Solution: Implemented an off-grid backup microgrid system with energy storage as the core and photovoltaic power as a supplement, entirely replacing the original diesel generators.

3)     Operating Mode: The system primarily functions in two modes: grid-connected and off-grid. Under normal grid conditions, the energy storage system remains on standby or performs peak shaving and load shifting as required; Upon grid power interruption, the system seamlessly switches to off-grid mode, independently supplying power to the base station load via the energy storage system.

4)     Implementation Results: The project successfully decommissioned the diesel generator, achieving zero-emission, silent, and unattended backup power supply.
