Air-Cooled Outdoor Cabinet Energy Storage System

1)  Customer Challenges: The company’s production equipment exhibits distinct electrical load characteristics, with electricity consumption concentrated during daytime peak periods, leading to excessively high monthly electricity costs, particularly from demand charges and peak energy charges. Furthermore, the company seeks to implement a flexible upgrade of the existing power distribution system but is constrained by the long lead times and high capital expenditure associated with conventional capacity expansion.

2)  Solution: We deployed an energy storage system comprised of highly reliable air-cooled outdoor energy storage cabinets, with a total power rating of 600KW and a total capacity of 1392KWh.

3)  Operating Mode: The system predominantly operates in a 'Peak-Shaving and Valley-Filling Arbitrage plus Demand Control' mode. It charges to store electrical energy during off-peak periods and discharges during peak periods, directly supplying production loads.

4)  Implementation Outcomes: Following project deployment, the enterprise's monthly electricity costs significantly decreased, with the investment payback period notably surpassing initial projections. Additionally, the energy storage system acts as a virtual 'power buffering pool,' effectively smoothing the plant’s load curve, improving the safety margin of the distribution network, and providing flexible power support for future production capacity enhancements.
